For 3/4 cup yield:
Pot in pot:
1/4 cup rice
1/4 cup water
1/8 tsp salt 
 
1 cup water in inner pot 
 
For 1 1/2 cup yield: 
Pot in pot: 
1/2 cup rice 
1/2 cup water 
1/4 tsp salt 

1 cup water in inner pot 

1. Add pot in pot ingredients to a small flat-bottomed stainless steel bowl. 
2. Add 1 cup water to Instant Pot inner pot. Place trivet in water. Place bowl on top of trivet. 
3. Secure lid in place > Turn valve to SEALING > Press MANUAL > Press MINUS sign to modify time to 5* minutes > After 10 seconds display will read ON 
4. When time has lapsed > Allow for NATURAL PRESSURE RELEASE for 10 minutes > QUICK RELEASE remaining pressure by turning valve to VENTING > Remove lid away from you 
5. Carefully remove bowl with gloves and fluff rice with a fork. 

*Cooking ingredients in pot in pot cooking requires a longer cooking time compared to cooking directly in the Instant Pot inner pot. White rice directly in pot takes 3 minutes comparatively.

1/2 cup quinoa
1/2 cup + 1 TB water 
1/4 tsp salt 

1 cup water in inner pot 

1. Add pot in pot ingredients to a small flat-bottomed stainless steel bowl. 
2. Add 1 cup water to Instant Pot inner pot. Place trivet in water. Place bowl on top of trivet. 
3. Secure lid in place > Turn valve to SEALING > Press MANUAL > Press MINUS sign to modify time to 7* minutes > After 10 seconds display will read ON 
4. When time has lapsed > Allow for NATURAL PRESSURE RELEASE > Remove lid away from you 
5. Carefully remove bowl with gloves and fluff rice with a fork.

**Cooking Pot-in-Pot is not an exact science. We have done extensive recipe testing and found that this method works best for us. You may find that you need to slightly adjust water ratios and/or times to better suit the type of rice/grain you are using, your elevation, the type of inner pot you are using, etc.
